Rwanda

Gorillas in the mist come to mind immediately, as well as Dianne Fossey, the courageous woman who fought for their preservation. We had the joyous esperience of visiting with a gorilla family for an hour, the silverback keeping a good eye on his harem while we sat in awe. Rwanda is much more than that, a bloody history of tribal conflict, now thankfully settled. Rwanda is now one of the safest countries in Africa, where it seems that women are fully respected.
